AoC Tips
Instanced PVP battles in AoC
Instanced PVP battles are the most immediate outlet for your spellcasting prowess, and you can play a team deathmatch or capture-the-flag variant against others simply by adding yourself to the match queue.

Single player quest
As you level, you'll find that few looted items are helpful, and the limited inventory space (even after buying an extra bag) can make dropped items more of a nuisance than a pleasure. The flow of new abilities is also inconsistent, since rather than bringing brand-new spells, new levels more often reward you with more powerful versions of existing spells and combos.

Age of Conan Collector's Edition
Additional retail figures for the standard edition of Age of Conan are also highly impressive. In total, Funcom is shipping around 700.000 copies of Age of Conan on day one. This impressive figure for a PC game is powered by equally impressive pre-order numbers.

Age of Conan slays 400,000
Not long after the game launched for the PC last week, Funcom stated that the collector's edition for its M-for-Mature-rated MMOG had indefinitely sold out. The Oslo, Norway-based developer expects sales to continue to climb as retailers restock the standard edition of the game. Based on the savage universe first imagined by Robert E. Howard, Age of Conan drops players into the unforgiving online realm of the Hyborian Age.

Funcom: Everything going ''according to plan''
Despite the continuing losses, Funcom maintains the negative numbers are exactly what it expected given an increase in the cost of sales and marketing for the upcoming Age of Conan game.

Breaking-news for Age of Conan
I played with spellweaving the other day, and I must say: It is a very scary experience. My necromancer character had dark matter and skulls growing out of the ground everywhere around her, and gradually my powers changed. Spells that normally were applied to only a single target started spreading out and damaging huge belts of opponents in a cascading madness.

The Chronicles of Spellborn: Not free to play, proclaims Acclaim
In fact, the PR Manager for The Chronicles of Spellborn is quite insistent on the that point. 'TCoS is NOT a Free2Play game,' says PR manager, Mirage. And then again, only in ALL CAPS. Mirage is correct, of course.

Online gaming on Google's Lively to take on "corporate mentality"
Kevin Hanna, creative director of Google's Lively, said at AGDC that he hopes that Lively will become an online gaming platform that will challenge the status quo in a game industry he says is currently dominated by a "corporate mentality" that is "sucking the life out of what should be the most creative and innovative medium out there." Here is also a very interesting mmorpg game called Final Fantasy XI.

Is LotRO coming to the console?
In previous interviews with Turbine, we've heard about their interest in developing an MMO on the console. There was speculation of a Harry Potter MMO, following some venture funding by Warner Bros, but now we have a piece of information that might put the console spotlight back on Lord of the Rings Online.
